Every good photographer will tell you that sunset is the best time of day for good portrait photos. That's absolutely right, and here are the reasons. At sunset, the sun is low in the sky which means the sun is hitting you more straight on instead of from directly overhead. This is a more flattering angle because there is less chance of harsh shadows under your eyebrows, nose and chin. The sunset lighting is also more gentle and pleasing for portraiture. For years we have offered our couples the option to purchase a "Keepsake Ceremony Booklet" which contained the script of their wedding ceremony. It included a few photos and was spiral bound. Now we have upgraded the booklet to look more like a small magazine with many more color photos. The new Keepsake Ceremony Booklet has 27 pages and will include 29-30 full color photos. Previously, we at Beach Weddings Virginia have had a policy of doing weddings only in locations in Virginia Beach or Norfolk, Va. However, we recently did a wedding on the waterfront in Yorktown, Virginia and found it to be a great wedding venue. Yes, it is possible that it will rain on your wedding day. We often hear a bride say "I will just think positive and it won't rain" Positive thinking is indeed a good thing. And a good dose of positive thinking will be helpful to you in many situations. But weather is one of those situations not influenced by positive thinking. If you are having a beach wedding, be sure to give some thought to what kind of shoes you will be wearing. Pretty shoes with high heels will look great at your reception.
